It has been many moons since I last blogged.  Although 2012 brought with it some disaster, as I recently learned that all the artwork I had left to sell at the Lower East Side Art Collective was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy, this past year has definitely also bore much joy and gifts.

I have lots to celebrate:

I moved into my own apartment in a beautiful historic town house on a lovely garden property in Old North St. Louis.  I spent a wonderful summer making art with elderly residents at the generous grounds of Our Lady of the Snows.  I saw my best friend from college get married to the love of her life and had an incredible time with my old friends at her wedding. My thesis proposal was passed after many arduous rewrites.  I received much praise for my work at Barnes Jewish Hospital as an intern in their Arts & Healthcare program.  I had a very successful art opening and show at La Mancha Coffeehouse.

More importantly, I found love.  While February ended in heartbreak, it only makes me appreciate the warmth and incredible affection that I now receive from Leslie.  She really lights up my world.  Although we have only been dating since September, I cherish the mornings where we wake up together and the evenings where we fall asleep in eachothers' arms.  She takes care of me when I am sick, and dances with me whenever my heart desires.  She makes me laugh and appreciates my cooking.

I feel truly lucky and blessed.

I look forward to 2013 and all the more that life has to offer.

Thank you,
     Eileen
